Coffee Scale: the coffee scale used by baristas are pretty similar to kitchen tools: a flat surface on which you lay on your porter filter in an unstable balance, some time water proved. A sevensegment display informs you about weight. Single spout porter-filter (right picture below) are almost impossible to lean on, while the digit display is not able to save data or show more informations then its weight.
The BMS bracket allows you to lay on all kind of porter filter while the touch screen display shows a full range of data you can eventually save and process.
